GESTE Supports the Opening of India's First Raiffeisen Market!

Indian agriculture is characterized by a large number of small and marginal farmers in rural areas who often have little or no access to wholesale markets. With the support of the GESTE Foundation, the first Raiffeisen Market was inaugurated this year in the state of Telangana. It offers a unique local solution for the needs of more than 5,000 members of the Jangaon Association of Agricultural Producer Groups. A particular focus is on sustainability: the Raiffeisen Market offers organic fertilizers and biological pest control products. Small farmers benefit from easier access to inputs and services.
